There is a difference in new jars and reused jars in that the new sealed instantly and the reused would not seal after 4 tries. And the lids did pop off after 36 hours on the counter. The one in refrigerator in staying strong and keeping the celery sticks much better than the crisper alone. Any suggestions for those that won’t seal?

Did a test with veggies and strawberries in the jars and in the container they came in. Freshness was impressive with the Genie and worth the price. Love it!

I bought a Mason Genie for myself as well as my daughter. I am doing a test right now on how well it works by putting some raspberries into a jar and sealing it with the Mason Genie and leaving some raspberries in the container I usually store them in. This is day 4 as so far and the raspberries in the Mason Genie look fresh as ever while the ones in my regular container have started to soften and wilt somewhat. It looks like the Mason Genie is definitely doing what it said it would by keeping the fruit as fresh as day 1.

I like that I can vacuum pack food in mason jars to prolong the shelf life; however, I have a hard time removing the vacuum device after it turns off. Sometimes it's broken the seal when I remove the device

Easy to use and store. I’ve had only a few weeks so cannot comment yet on freshness or longevity but seal is tighter than just the mason jar seals I own and used for jar closures previously. Like used former canning sealed lids…

Tried it of a jar of brown sugar the day it arrived. I mainly wanted to see if it did in fact seal and how long that see will last.
Even without using a band on the jar it has stayed sealed for over a week.

We are very impressed of how quickly it seals a jar. We have not tried fresh items yet so I'm not sure how that will do.
The only down fall was on my older jars (the blue ball jars) it did not seal them depending on the style of the jar.

So far the Mason Genie is doing what it is supposed to do. A cut up jicama was crisp and sweet after being refrigerated in a sealed jar for several days. Even in a ‘green bag’ and in the veggie drawer in the refrigerator, it would have been slimy after the same amount of time. My only problem with the device is that it can be difficult to manage for my arthritic fingers. Over time, I hope I will find ways to manage it. Other than that, this device is a useful addition to my kitchen.

I purchased this as I was so tired of throwing away so much produce each week as it would go bad before I had a chance to eat it all. This was exactly what I needed to keep everything fresh longer. With the mason jars, I am able to prep a weeks worth of salads all at once, and the one at the end of the week is just as good as the one the first day. Keeps everything neat and organized so I can see that I have at a glance. My only suggestion, would be to add a magnet to the lid opener so I could just stick it on the fridge. But I am very happy with my Mason Genie.

Does not work. I spent most of a day trying to get a seal on a jar top that was included with the purchase. The machine simply does not vacuum. No response from customer service either. I watched many online videos to find a solution; none worked.

Works very well so far. I have used it for several items that normally simply do not last after opening, including mushrooms, bean sprouts, and sliced apples. My issues with the whole process were with the shipping. First, I ordered a single unit, which did not meet the free shipping criterion. After having placed that order, including $10 for shipping, I was offered a second unit at a discount plus free shipping, which I accepted. The misleading part is that both units arrived in the same box, so the ‘free shipping’ for the second unit was no such thing. To be clear, I am not unhappy with the total paid, but the company really should clarify things better. Secondly, I was given a range of delivery dates. In fact the delivery occurred 3 days past the latest of those dates.
