My brown sugar FINALLY keeps! I kept salad for 2 weeks, blueberries and mushrooms for over a week.
I also learned the trick of placing a "sacrificial" lid over the sealed lid when you are opening a jar. That way they can reseal without denting!
I bought one for my neighbor. My neighbor's husband just went into a nursing home. It really helps her cook and shop for one. No more throwing out.

I've only used it a few times so far, but I'm not sure how well it's actually sealing. Do I need to be using brand-new lids? In other words, if I have lids that have already been through a canning process, will they still work with the Genie?

This seal very well. My strawberries stayed fresh for week now and the only thing I seen so far is raspberries get soft for the ones at the bottom. Otherwise I love it and can’t wait to try different foods. Wish I order more chalkboard lids when I did my purchase.

First off, I want to say that customer service for this product is very good. I'm not proficient on the computer, and I bought 2 sets instead of one set. When I realized my error a couple of days later, I reported the issue and was refunded the extra order almost immediately. There's something to be said for customer service these days, and these guys have it.
As for the product itself? I could see the benefit to this product and went out and bought canning jars specifically for this apparatus. I must say it's not hype. I have stored cherry tomatoes, pineapple chunks, cherries, celery, mangoes, parsley, cilantro, green onions, cheese and even cucumbers in this manner. After opening the jars approximately 2 weeks later, everything was just as I had stored it. Green onions, celery, herbs were still crisp and unblemished. Pineapple chunks were still the same colour and sweet. Cucumber still had a snap to it. I highly recommend this method of storing fresh produce if you are, like me, single and can't get through all the produce you buy. It's a real money saver and game changer.

The first time I tried it the cap didn’t seal but that was due to no pressure applied to the lid. I now have used it a few times and it seals every time. I will know more when I unseal my peaches after 2 weeks of being sealed. I love the idea but it’s not to replace canning / preserving food.

I bought it as a gift for my son’s 46 birthday. I know he will love it but since I bought it when I saw it I have not yet given it to him. He has been a vegan since he was 14 years old. An extremely healthy person. So very careful what he eats and drinks. He has been a cyclist for 20 years racing 100 mile races most weekends. I figured he could transfer most of his energy drink mixes from their original packaging to glass and use your lids to seal them!

I like it, but have trouble removing the device and having the lid remained sealed. Once I do get it off and the lid is sealed, it is very nice! Maybe this is a skill that will come with repeated use. I am keeping it out and easily accessible.
